January

Fishing - January is a fantastic time for sport fishing in Cabo San Lucas. You can expect to catch striped marlin, which are abundant during this month. Yellowfin tuna and dorado (mahi-mahi) are also possible catches.

Weather - January is one of the cooler months, with daytime temperatures ranging from 60°F to 75°F (15°C to 24°C). The weather is generally mild, with a chance of light rain and occasional cloudy skies.

February

Fishing - February continues to be excellent for striped marlin fishing, and the waters are also ripe for catching sailfish. Yellowtail and dorado remain in the mix, offering a variety of fishing experiences.

Weather - Temperatures in February are similar to January, ranging from 58°F to 73°F (14°C to 23°C). It's a bit cooler in the evenings, but the daytime weather is comfortable for fishing.

March

Fishing - March sees the beginning of a transition period where striped marlin fishing remains strong, but the arrival of blue marlin and sailfish increases. The yellowfin tuna and dorado fishing continue to be productive.

Weather - With daytime temperatures ranging from 60°F to 75°F (16°C to 24°C), March offers pleasant weather. You can expect clear skies and lower humidity, making it a great time for outdoor activities.

April

Fishing - April is a prime month for fishing in Cabo San Lucas. Striped marlin, blue marlin, and sailfish are all active. This is also a good time to target yellowfin tuna and dorado.

Weather - Temperatures rise slightly, with daytime highs between 65°F and 80°F (18°C to 27°C). The weather is generally sunny with minimal rainfall, providing ideal conditions for fishing.

May

Fishing - May marks the start of the peak fishing season. The waters are filled with marlin, including striped, blue, and black marlin. Dorado and yellowfin tuna are also plentiful. In May, we also begin to see the inshore species bite pick up for roosterfish, jacks and others. 

Weather - Expect warmer temperatures, ranging from 70°F to 85°F (21°C to 29°C). The weather is usually sunny with low humidity, perfect for spending long hours on the water.

June

Fishing - June offers some of the best fishing opportunities of the year. Striped marlin, blue marlin, and black marlin are all in abundance. Dorado and yellowfin tuna continue to be strong targets.  This is also a prime roosterfish month.

Weather - June is warm, with daytime temperatures ranging from 75°F to 90°F (24°C to 32°C). It’s the beginning of the hot season, and the weather is typically sunny with occasional breezes.

July

Fishing - July is excellent for catching a variety of marlin, including all three species: striped, blue, and black. Yellowfin tuna and dorado remain prevalent, and the water conditions are ideal for offshore fishing. Inshore fishing will be productive with roosterfish season and other inshore species.

Weather - Hot temperatures dominate, ranging from 80°F to 95°F (27°C to 35°C). The humidity increases, but occasional cloud cover and sea breezes offer some relief.

August

Fishing - August continues to provide exceptional fishing opportunities. All marlin species are active, and dorado and yellowfin tuna remain plentiful. The warm waters are also good for wahoo fishing.

Weather - August is one of the hottest months, with temperatures ranging from 85°F to 100°F (29°C to 38°C). It’s typically sunny with occasional short-lived thunderstorms, providing a chance for cooler breaks.
This is typically when hurricane activity can begin.

September

Fishing - September is the tail end of the prime fishing season, with excellent opportunities to catch marlin, dorado, and yellowfin tuna. The water remains warm, and wahoo are also a popular target.

Weather - September is still hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 80°F to 95°F (27°C to 35°C). The weather includes occasional rain showers and increased humidity and potential tropical storms and hurricanes.

October

Fishing - October is a great time for marlin fishing as the season winds down. Striped marlin, blue marlin, and black marlin are still active. Dorado and yellowfin tuna fishing also remains strong.

Weather - Temperatures are still warm, ranging from 70°F to 85°F (21°C to 29°C). October sees high humidity still and the potential for tropical storms and hurricanes.

November

Fishing - November marks the transition to the cooler fishing season. Striped marlin remain prevalent, and dorado and yellowfin tuna are still good catches. The fishing for sailfish also picks up.

Weather - Daytime temperatures range from 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). The weather is pleasant with lower humidity and occasional cloudy days.

December

Fishing - December is an excellent month for striped marlin, and sailfish also become more active. Yellowfin tuna and dorado are still present, making it a good time for diverse fishing experiences.

Weather - December is cooler, with temperatures ranging from 60°F to 75°F (15°C to 24°C). Expect mild weather with occasional rain showers and cooler evenings.
